NEXT Web - My Settings - Communication
Overview
This article explains how to manage your communication settings in NEXT. It covers calling settings including phone numbers, voicemail, call forwarding, call routing, and call recording, as well as SMS automatic replies.
Before You Begin

You must be signed in to NEXT with an active account.

To access My Settings, click your avatar icon in the upper-right corner and select My Settings.
NOTE: Save functionality is not yet implemented across Communication settings. This article will be updated once saving is available.
Calling
To access Calling settings, in the left-hand navigation panel, click Calling under Communication.
Phone Numbers
| Field | Description |
| Default Outgoing Number | The number displayed when making outbound calls. If you have multiple numbers, click the drop-down arrow to select a different number. |
| Extension | Your internal extension number. Click the drop-down arrow to select from available extensions. |
| Confirm Number on Click to Call | When enabled, prompts you to confirm your outgoing number before placing a call. |
Voicemail
Enabling Voicemail
Click the Voicemail toggle to enable voicemail. When enabled, unanswered calls are sent to voicemail.
Voicemail Greeting
The Default System Greeting is active by default.
To create a new voicemail greeting, complete the following steps:

Click New Greeting.

In the New Greeting window, select one of the following tabs:
Create tab:
Create a greeting using Text-to-Speech or by recording:

Enter the name of your greeting in the Greeting Name field.

Type your greeting in the text box.

Click Record instead to record your greeting using your microphone.

Select a voice from the following options:
| Gender | Voice Options |
| Female | Warm, Agile, Robust, Confident, Bubbly |
| Male | Warm, Agile, Robust, Confident, Bubbly |

Click the Play icon to hear how the greeting sounds. This must be clicked to save the greeting.

Click Save Greeting when finished.
Upload tab:
Upload a pre-recorded greeting:

Enter the name of your greeting in the Greeting Name field.

Drag and drop your file into the upload area, or click Browse to select a file from your computer.

Supported file types: MP3, WAV, AAC.

Click Save Greeting when finished.
The greeting appears in your voicemail greeting list.
Changing the Default Voicemail Greeting
If you have multiple voicemail greetings saved, you can choose which one is used as the default.

Click the ellipsis (•••) next to the greeting you want to set as the default.

Click Set as Greeting.
The default greeting displays an Active label.
Forwarding
The Forwarding settings allow you to redirect incoming calls to another phone number under different conditions. Scroll down to see the Forwarding section.
To configure call forwarding, complete the following steps:

Enable the desired forwarding option using the toggle:
| Option | Description |
| Always Forward | Automatically forwards all your calls to a different phone number. |
| Forward When Unanswered | Forwards incoming calls when they are not answered within a specific number of rings. |
| Forward When Busy | Forwards incoming calls when your phone is busy. You are considered busy when Do Not Disturb is enabled or when you receive a second call with Call Waiting disabled. |
| Forward When Unreachable | Forwards incoming calls when you are not reachable — for example, during a power outage or service interruption. |

Enter the phone number where calls should be forwarded. Set the number of rings if necessary.

Click Activate.
A confirmation message appears confirming your settings have been saved.
Call Routing
The Call Routing settings allow you to control how incoming calls are handled. Scroll down to see the Call Routing section.
To configure call routing, complete the following steps:

Enable the desired option using the toggle:
| Option | Description |
| Call waiting | Allows you to receive additional calls while on an active call. NOTE: This applies only to direct calls to you — calls from call groups depend on their own settings. |
| Anonymous call rejection | Blocks calls from hidden numbers. Blocked calls will not ring or be received. NOTE: This only blocks hidden numbers, not unavailable numbers. |
A confirmation message appears confirming your settings have been saved.
Call Recording
The Call Recording settings control whether calls are automatically recorded and whether a recording announcement is played. Scroll down to see the Call Recording secion.
To configure call recording, complete the following steps:

Enable the desired option using the toggle:
| Option | Description |
| Auto enable call recording | If enabled, call recording automatically begins at the start of your My Inbox calls. You can stop and resume recording during a call. NOTE: If disabled, call transcriptions and AI summaries are also disabled. |
| Play Recording Announcement | If enabled, notifies participants when call recording starts and stops. NOTE: If disabled, participants are not notified when recording starts or stops. |
A confirmation message appears confirming your settings have been saved.
SMS
To access SMS settings, in the left-hand navigation panel, click SMS under Communication.
Automatic Replies
Enabling Auto Replies
To enable auto replies, complete the following steps:

Enable Use Auto Reply.

In the SMS text message field, enter your auto reply message. Click the emoticon icon to include emojis.

To set an out of office date range, click the checkbox next to Use an out of office date range, then:

Click the calendar icon in the Start date field to set when the out of office period begins.

Click the drop-down arrow in the Start time field to set the start time.

Click the drop-down arrow in the Send when receiving field and select when automatic replies are sent (both can be selected):

Enabling After Hours Auto Replies
To enable after-hours automatic replies, complete the following steps:

Enable Use after hours auto reply.

In the SMS text message field, enter your auto reply message. Click the emoticon icon to include emojis.

Click Set business hours to configure your business hours. In the Business hours window:

Click the toggle next to each working day to enable it.
-
Enter your working hours for each day, or click the checkbox next to All day.

Click Add time slot if a separate time slot is needed.

Click Save.
