Authentication (iOS)

Welcome screen

When you open the NEXT mobile app, the NEXT welcome screen appears, displaying:

  • The app tagline: "The complete customer experience platform."

  • Continue with SSO — for signing in via your organization's single sign-on provider

  • Continue with Email — for signing in with an email and password (labeled Last used if this was your most recent sign-in method)

  • A globe/language icon (top right) to change the app's display language

  • A footer noting that continuing accepts Nextiva's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

Change language

  1. On the welcome screen, tap the globe icon (top right).

  2. Select a language from the list: English, Español, Français, Português, and others.

  3. A checkmark indicates the currently selected language.

Sign in with SSO

  1. On the welcome screen, tap Continue with SSO.

  2. Enter your organization email address (e.g., you@company.com).

  3. Tap Continue with SSO to proceed to your organization's identity provider login screen.

Sign out

  1. Tap your profile avatar (top right of the Home screen).

  2. In the account menu, review your name, status, and options including Update status, Set yourself as available, and Pause Notification.

  3. Tap Sign Out to log out of the app.

The account menu also provides access to Profile, Communication, Connect With Nextiva, Preferences, and Privacy settings.

Inbox (Landing Page)

The Inboxes tab is your central hub for viewing all customer communications — calls, text messages, and emails — from the NEXT mobile app.

To access: From the bottom navigation, tap Inboxes.

Overview

The Inbox screen displays:

  • All and Unread tabs to filter your conversation list

  • An All Channels dropdown to filter by specific communication type

  • A search icon (top right) to search within your inbox

  • A compose icon (bottom right) to start a new conversation

Filter by channel

  1. Tap the All Channels dropdown.

  2. Select one of the following:

    • Calls

    • Text Messages

    • Emails

Start a new conversation

  1. Tap the compose icon (bottom right of the Inbox screen).

  2. In the New Message screen, tap the To field and search for a teammate by name or email.

  3. Select the recipient from the Teammates list.

  4. Type your message and tap the send icon to deliver it.

View a conversation

Tapping into an existing conversation opens the full thread, showing:

  • Call history entries inline (e.g., outgoing call with duration and timestamp)

  • Text messages exchanged, grouped by date

  • A message input field at the bottom to continue the conversation

Calls

The Calls tab shows your call history and provides access to voicemails and the dialer.

To access: From the bottom navigation, tap Calls.

Overview

The Calls screen displays:

  • All, Missed, and Voicemail tabs to filter your call list

  • A search icon (top right)

  • A dialpad icon (bottom right) to open the dialer

Each call list entry shows the contact's name (or number, if unsaved), call direction or type (Inbound, Outbound, Missed Call, Voicemail), and the date. Missed calls are highlighted in red. Tap the phone icon next to any entry to call that contact directly.

Filter by tab

  • All — shows every call, in chronological order

  • Missed — shows only missed calls

  • Voicemail — shows only voicemail messages

View call details

Tap into any call or voicemail entry to open its detail screen, showing:

  • Contact name and call type/date

  • Quick action buttons: Call, Message, Video, Email, Share

  • Call Details — the specific call record, with a link to Call history for that contact

  • For voicemails: a Voicemail player with play/pause controls and a progress scrubber, plus Summary and Transcript tabs

Voicemail playback

  1. From a voicemail's detail screen, tap the play button on the waveform.

  2. Use the Summary tab to view an AI-generated summary of the voicemail (if available).

  3. Use the Transcript tab to view a text transcript of the voicemail (if available).

Note: If a summary hasn't been generated yet, the screen displays "Summary not available."

Dialer

The Dialer provides a numeric keypad to place outbound calls directly from the NEXT mobile app.

To access: From the Calls tab, tap the dialpad icon (bottom right).

  1. Enter a phone number using the keypad. As you type, the number displays at the top in a formatted layout (e.g., +1 669 336 5645).

  2. Optionally, tap Save Contact to add the number to your contacts before calling.

  3. Tap the green call button to place the call.

  4. Tap the backspace icon to delete the last digit entered, or the X icon (top left) to close the dialer.

During a call

Once a call connects (or while it's ringing), the in-call screen displays the contact's name (or number) and call status (e.g., "Ringing..." or an active call timer), along with the following controls:

  • Hold — pause the current call

  • Mute — mute your microphone

  • Keyboard — open the keypad during the call (e.g., for IVR navigation)

  • Audio — switch audio output (speaker, earpiece, etc.)

  • Transfer — transfer the call to another number or contact

  • More — additional call options

  • End call (red button) — ends the call

Meetings

The Meetings area lets you schedule, start, and join meetings directly from the NEXT mobile app.

To access: From the bottom navigation, tap More, then select Meetings.

Overview

The Meetings screen displays a weekly calendar strip (e.g., MON–SUN) with a Today shortcut, and lists any scheduled meetings for the selected day.

Schedule a meeting

  1. From the Meetings screen, tap the + icon (or equivalent schedule action).

  2. On the Schedule meeting screen, enter a Meeting title.

  3. Set the Starts and Ends date and time, or toggle All-day if applicable.

  4. Tap Invitees to add participants (shows "No one invited yet" until participants are added).

  5. Optionally, add an Agenda.

  6. Tap Schedule (top right) to confirm.

Start an instant meeting

  1. From the Meetings screen, swipe up or tap to open Start instant meeting.

  2. Select participants from the Recent list, or use Search people to find someone specific.

  3. Selected participants display a checkmark; tap the X on a selected participant's avatar to remove them.

  4. Tap Start (top right) to begin the meeting immediately.
