NextIQ Agent Assist — Conversation Summary and AI Suggestions
Overview
NextIQ Agent Assist is an AI-powered assistant integrated into the Nextiva Inbox. It helps agents understand customer interactions, prepare replies, and decide what to do next without leaving their conversation workspace.
Unlike the previous NextIQ 1.0 experience, which primarily relied on agents manually asking questions to retrieve knowledge-base information, the new Agent Assist understands the context of the currently selected customer conversation and updates its context in real time as messages are exchanged between the agent and customer.
Where to find it
Open a customer conversation in Nextiva Inbox. When enabled, the NextIQ Insights panel appears on the right side of the conversation workspace.
The panel contains:
-
Recent Conversation Summary
-
Suggested actions: Help me write a reply, Help me plan next steps, and Walk me through the history
-
A Continue the conversation field for free-form requests to NextIQ
Key features
1. Recent Conversation Summary
The Recent Conversation Summary is an AI-generated overview of recent work items and customer interactions. It helps agents understand what has happened without manually reviewing the entire interaction history.
Example: If a customer called and the call was missed, followed by an outbound message from the agent, NextIQ can summarize the missed call, follow-up, and current pending response.
2. Suggested actions
The panel offers three predefined suggestions:
Help me write a reply
Ask NextIQ to draft an appropriate response based on available conversation context. The agent reviews the draft before sending.
Help me plan next steps
Ask NextIQ to recommend reasonable follow-up steps based on the customer's current situation.
Walk me through the history
Ask NextIQ to explain the sequence of recent interactions and relevant background, rather than reading every message manually.
These chips start an interaction with NextIQ; they do not directly send messages to the customer.
3. Real-time conversation context
NextIQ understands the context of the currently selected customer conversation. As the agent and customer exchange messages, NextIQ updates its understanding of the conversation in real time. Agents do not need to re-enter the complete conversation history with every question.
4. Conversational assistance
Agents can type their own questions in the Continue the conversation field to ask for clarifications, request a draft, or explore the history beyond the suggested chips.
